Rainbow Trout

I carved a 32” Rainbow Trout out of Paduak, Yellowheart, Walnut, Cherry, Curly Maple and 7.5 gallons of epoxy resin. I first milled up all the lumber and created veneers out of the wood in able to do bent lamination. I used a vacuum bag to laminate the veneers. Once sealed and primed for epoxy, I poured 7.5 gallons of resin with some metallic flake to enhance the “fishlike” appearance. I then carved the Trout with various power tools, painted on hundreds of black dots and did 4 coats of glossy clear coat.
