Giant African Snail
I took inspiration from a recent trip to Hawaii where we saw hundreds of amazing Giant African Snails after a rainstorm. This sculpture uses an intricate wooden pattern consisting of Walnut and Maple. The pattern alone took 2 full weeks to complete. The body of the snail uses crystal clear epoxy resin which was casted from a clay mold. The sculpture measures 16” long by 8” tall and 6” wide. I love how this sculpture has two completely separate materials that mesh into one uniform Giant African Snail.
